About
I am a ceramist who fell in love with clay when I was about sixteen. Surprisingly my small town high school had a wonderful art program equipped with wheels and kilns and it was such a lovely thing to experience while I was in school. As life happened and I went on to college years later I never really touched clay again until 2020 during the pandemic. I ended up finding a potter’s wheel online that I could afford, and although it was an older model and very well-loved, it did the trick.
I didn't intend on selling my work until I found that people in my life were interested in it and was able to start my online shop. Since then, there has been a lot of growth and learning to do as I go but I've enjoyed every bit of it.
My focus with ceramics is making practical every-day items, and creating work that I am really proud of. I’ve been able to be direct and realistic with myself in terms of what I think is my best work. I love looking back on some older pieces of mine and seeing that I have in fact improved on my artistry.
In 2022 I had the pleasure of visiting the Gladstone Pottery Museum in Stoke-on-Trent, England. I was able to learn so much about development and history on the pottery industry dating back to the 1800's.
Below are photos of the very tall bottle kilns!
